Name: Community: 2017 Montgomery County Healthy for Good Heart Walk
Date: October 28, 2017
Time: 8:15 AM - 11:00 AM CDT
Event Description:
Over 5,000 Montgomery County residents will lace up their sneakers the weekend before Halloween to rally behind the American Heart Association’s fight against heart disease and stroke at the 2017 Montgomery County Healthy for Good Heart Walk on Oct. 28, 2017. The Montgomery County Heart Walk will take place at Alight Solutions, formally AON Hewitt, at 9500 Lakeside Boulevard, The Woodlands, Texas. The Montgomery County Heart Walk is a free, family-friendly 5K promoting heart-healthy living while raising funds critical to supporting cardiovascular research and education programs. Participants are encouraged to make teams and wear their team shirts. Dogs are allowed to participate, as well! The Heart Walk will also feature the Kid’s Dash, a special obstacle course for kids ages 5-12 to celebrate the Heart Hero within all of us. Heart Walk is the signature fundraising event of the American Heart Association’s Healthy for Good campaign. Healthy For God is designed to inspire all Americans to live healthier lives and create lasting change. It focuses on the simple idea that making small, simple chances can create a difference for generations to come. The approach is simple: Eat Smart. Add Color. Move More. Be Well. Alight Solutions is the local platform sponsor of the event. Opening ceremonies for the Heart Walk begin at 8:15 a.m. with the Kid’s Dash taking off at 8:45 a.m. The walk will follow at 9:00 a.m. As always, the Heat Walk is free, but donations are appreciated.
